Low dimensional Hybrid Materials
Dr. George Mousdis, Research Director
orcid googleholar

Dr. George Mousdis is leading the low dimensional organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite subgroup within the research direction Materials Synthesis and Physical Chemistry, at the Theoretical and Physical Chemistry Institute. He completed his diploma in Chemistry at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1986 and obtained his PhD in Physical Chemistry at the same university in 1990. His research is focused on the synthesis and study in of low dimensional materials hybrid materials such as organic-inorganic hybrid semiconductors (hybrid perovskites) and organic conductors and superconductors. His work is focused to unveil the basic connections between molecular synthesis, crystal structure and physical properties and to design and develop materials with tailor made properties, that can be used for the preparation of optoelectronic devices with high performance.

He also aims at developing spectroscopic – chemometric methods for the authentication and characterization of food (oils, milk, honey, etc.) and sea waters. Another area of interest is the preparation of metal oxide thin films for sensing and photocatalytic applications.
