Material Synthesis and Physical Chemistry

Luminescent materials
Dr. Andreas Kaltzoglou, Associate Researcher
googleholar orcid

Many semiconducting materials such as halide perovskites exhibit luminescence. This property is affected by the chemical composition, crystal structure and morphology of the compounds. Tuning these characteristics may lead to materials with desirable photon absorption and emission ranges, for example by doping CsSnI3 with other inorganic or organic cations. In this context, research focuses on solution-processable and environmentally friendly materials that may be ultimately incorporated in LEDs. The chemical stability of the materials against ambient air and high temperature is also studied.
