The activity “Theoretical and Numerical Methods for Photonics, Optoelectronics and Metamaterials” falls under the research direction “Theoretical and Computational Chemistry and Materials Science” of TPCI and is coordinated by Dr. Odysseas Tsilipakos. We conduct research on photonic and optoelectronic devices for integrated and free-space optics. Particular focus is placed on nonlinear phenomena, as well as tunability and reconfigurability, in order to achieve advanced functionalities. Key areas of interest are novel artificial materials (metamaterials and metasurfaces) and 2D photonic materials (graphene, transition metal dichalcogenides, etc.)
