The Short Light Wavelengths and Nano-Applications Laboratory conducts interdisciplinary research in fundamental and applied physics and technology.  Research activities are focused on photonics, biophysics, Space sciences, nanothermodynamics, materials, and complexity issues in matter and cells. Technological applications are directed toward designing and constructing fully automated control systems and devices, software development and integration in the laboratory environment, including state-of-the-art laser micromachining systems, vacuum, acoustic, optical and microwave technologies, and implementation.

Current applications involve:

  1. Stimulus-perception laws of cells.
  2. Complexity, hierarchy, and biophysics of cancer cells.
  3. Protein expression in cells modulates Euclidean topology.
  4. Drug delivery: Chaos and information in nanothermodynamical systems.
  5. Nanoscale connectivity of Euclidean, electrical and thermal topologies: Power flow in 2D nanosystems.
