B10. MODERN GREEK TRANSLATIONS

The project aims to chart the historical evolution of the translation phenomenon, and to record the changing translation theory and practice over time.
DIR-TRANSLAT: Archives of modern Greek translations (Scientific Co-ordinator: Alexandra Sfoini).
1. ETRANS1: Archive of translations to Greek (15th-18th cent.)
2. TRANS2: Archive of translations to Greek (1800-1863).
3. TRANS3: Archive of translations for the period 1864-1900.
4. XTRANS1: Archive of hand-written translations, 15th-20th cent.
5. Archive of translations published in magazines for the period 1811-1847 (PENED 484).
Database form:
It consists of records (in File Maker software) with many information fields: author of source work, title of source work, title of 1st intermediate work, title of 2nd intermediate work (if it has been translated to Greek through an intermediate language), title of translation in Greek, translator, place of residence of translator, place and time of publication, bibliographical references, and other field for special comments (language of translation, relevant studies, etc.).

1. ETRANS1: Archive of translations to Greek (15th-18th cent.)
Contains 521 records in electronic form and is accessible.
2. TRANS2: Archive of translations to Greek (1800-1863).
Contains 2052 records in electronic form and is accessible.
3. TRANS3: Archive of translations for the period 1864-1900.
Contains 1372 records in electronic form and is accessible.
4. XTRANS1: Archive of hand-written translations, 15th-20th cent.
This archive is not accessible.
5. Archive of translations published in magazines for the period 1811-1847 (PENED 484).
