As part of the programme, the ''Book in Byzantium: Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Bookbinding'', and the activities of ELEVIV, a series of exhibitions on the history of bookbinding was held in various Greek cities (Messolonghi, Ioannina and Drama). Overall responsibility for the exhibitions was assumed by Babis Legas, President of ELEVIV, and they were curated by Dr Niki Tsironis, director of the research programme, Byzantinist at the IBR/HNRF, and a member of ELEVIV.
An exhibition entitled ''The Art of Bookbinding from Byzantium until the Present Day'' was held for the first time in November 2002 at the Diexodos Centre of Culture and Art in Messolonghi. Following the necessary additions and adaptations, it was then taken to Ioannina, where it was shown at the Cultural Centre of the Municipality of Ioannina in February 2003 as part of the series of events celebrating 90 years from the liberation of the city.
In September 2003, the exhibition was completely transformed, and under the new title, ''Forms of Ancient and Byzantine Books: Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Bookbinding'', it was shown at the Archaeological Museum of Drama as part of the 6th International Conference on Hellenic Palaeography organised by the Comité Internationale de Paléographie Grecque.
