Συνεργασία μεταξύ του Εθνικού Ιδρύματος Ερευνών και του Σουηδικού Πανεπιστημίου Örebro
 Την Παρασκευή 7 Νοεμβρίου 2008 υπεγράφη συμφωνητικό συνεργασίας μεταξύ του Εθνικού Ιδρύματος Ερευνών (ΕΙΕ) και του Πανεπιστημίου Örebro (ÖU) της Σουηδίας, από τον Πρόεδρο του ΕΙΕ, Καθηγητή Δημήτριο Κυριακίδη και τον Πρύτανη του (ÖU), Καθηγητή Jens Schollin.
Η συνεργασία αυτή αφορά τα τρία Ινστιτούτα θετικής κατεύθυνσης του Εθνικού Ιδρύματος Ερευνών: 1) Ινστιτούτο Βιολογικών Ερευνών & Βιοτεχνολογίας, 2) Ινστιτούτο Οργανικής και Φαρμακευτικής Χημείας και 3) Ινστιτούτο Θεωρητικής και Φυσικής Χημείας και των τμημάτων Υγείας & Ιατρικών Επιστημών και Επιστήμης & Τεχνολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου Örebro.
Σκοπός της συνεργασίας είναι η από κοινού δημιουργία ισχυρών και ανταγωνιστικών ερευνητικών υποδομών και ομάδων για την περεταίρω ανάπτυξη της έρευνας στους κοινούς τομείς ενδιαφέροντος και τη διεκδίκηση μελλοντικών χρηματοδοτήσεων σε Εθνικό και Ευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο.
Collaboration between the National Hellenic Research Foundation and the Swedish Örebro University
 On November 7th 2008, the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF), represented by Professor Dimitrios Kyriakidis (Director and Chairman of the Board) and the Örebro University (ÖU) represented by Professor Jens Schollin, (Vice-Chancellor), signed a Letter of Intent declaring their intention to collaborate in the areas of Medical and Life Science research.
The NHRF will participate through its three (3) institutes that conduct research within the Life Sciences: 1) The Institute of Biological Research and Biotechnology, 2) The Institute of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry and 3) The Theoretical and Physical Chemistry Institute. The ÖU will participate through the faculties of Health and Medical Science and Science and Technology that carry out research and educate graduate students within the areas of Medical and Life Sciences.
This international collaboration will strengthen the postgraduate student’s research environment within the two organizations, stimulate research collaboration and increase the competitiveness in attracting external finances and resources. The purpose is to create strong common research environments that are successful at competing for funding at both the national and European level.
