This research direction is part of an ongoing collaboration with the Materials & Synthesis Group, and aims at the interpretation of experimental results obtained in our institute on the structure of borate glasses doped with alkali metal ions. We further investigated aspects of dynamics of the embedded ions and proposed a conduction mechanism appropriate for this particular type of glassy structure.
